Senior Recreation

We have expanded our recreation programming to include several activities for the active senior population.  During the summer and fall months, we offer several sessions on learning basic kayak skills.  You will learn how to get in and out of the kayak and stay as dry as possible!  You will also learn how to hold a paddle correctly and how to propel the boat forward and backwards.  These sessions are held  at the Cadyville Beach.  We will also take groups on a 7 mile paddle from Saranac down to the Cadyville Beach.  It is a very peaceful, serene trip loaded with beautiful scenery and wildlife.  This trip takes approximately 3 hours.  All equipment is provided free of charge.

During the winter months, we offer snowshoeing sessions.  Snowshoeing is an excellent activity that is "a walk in the park!"  It is a great way to enjoy the outdoors at  your own leisurely pace and take in the beauty of snow-covered pathways.  The Cadyville Park has many trails that are perfect for beginners.

We also encourage everyone to give the Disc Golf Course in Cadyville a try.  Disc Golf is a fast growing activity for everyone that is played much like golf, without the clubs and ball.  It is played with discs or frisbees and they are thrown from tee boxes towards targets.  There are no fees to play, so come out and give it a try.  Bring your own discs or borrow one of ours.  Look for clinics offered this summer!
