Registration

Registration for all summer sports and programs has started.  Get your form here.  Don't forget to include a birth certificate with your registration form this year!  It is a new requirement for anyone participating in baseball/softball, soccer, and basketball.  Baseball/softball/t-ball registration ended on April 13.  All late forms will be placed on a waiting list!

Baseball/Softball Sports Official Clinics

The Clinton County Youth Bureau will be holding sports official clinics starting in May. The schedule can be seen here. Umpires must be 14 years of age or older. For more information, contact the Clinton County Youth Bureau at 565-4750. If you are interested in being an umpire in the Town of Plattsburgh, we are always looking. You must go through the clinics to be eligible, but please contact us at rec@townofplattsburghrecreation.com.



Proposed Community Garden Expansion

Have you ever thought about having your own garden? Not enough space where you live? Think you don’t know enough about gardening? Growing fresh vegetables organically appeals to you and your family? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, then an opportunity to grow a garden is currently under exploration and development for the Spring of 2013.

The proposed garden site is located on the former Plattsburgh Air Base, directly across from the Clinton County Office of Emergency Services. This was originally the camp ground site for visiting military families and was once the garden site for those stationed at the former Air Base. The Town of Plattsburgh, Clinton County Health Department, Plattsburgh Community Gardens and Murnane Building Contractors are working together to make this happen in your community.

The group coordinating this effort needs to determine the level of interest in the community, prior to assuring water to the site, purchasing raised bed material and hard ware, and solidifying agreements with all involved parties.
